What is in a Name?

When picking a niche, a phrase is chosen that best describes a person’s passion. My blog’s name is based on Scripture (of course) from James 5:19-20. I’d like to lay it out for you ❤️.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

James 5:19-20

As the verse states any who errs from the truth… The word err is likened to the term wander. My blog is directed to those who wander from the truth due to some misunderstanding (click here to submit any questions for me). The prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) decided to wander into the world away from his father. After leading a life of pleasure he was still empty and couldn’t find anything to fill that void. That’s when he came home to his father still looking for his return. The Bible says all have fallen short of God’s standards (Romans 3:23) no one is righteous (Romans 3:10). You must realize that your “good works” (Ephesians 2:8-10) aren’t getting you anywhere. Follow me on this:

Someone you dearly love is murdered. The killer is held on trial and condemned guilty. The killer tells the judge that he’s done lots of good things; maybe he’s done some volunteering or charity donations of $1M. Either way, he pleads for his “goodness”. If the judge is good, he’s gonna say I don’t care you’re fulfilling your sentence. It’s the same with God. He is a good judge. The Ultimate judge. And you think He is gonna let you off for giving a homeless man a few bucks or some food? No! Of course not. So, my point is your works aren’t gonna get you anywhere because everything we do is out of selfish desire. Let me ask you this? What happens when you do a good thing? You get a good feeling right? Well, that means when we do good, we do it for that feeling. We are creatures (Jeremiah 17:9) that are in between a war of flesh.

We have all broken God’s rules (Exodus 20), so we all deserve the sentence (Romans 6:23). Jesus is willing to pay your fine you just have to claim guilty and accept Jesus’ offer. He will set you free through his blood. Come home to Jesus. The wanderin’ life is too draining. Jesus promises abundant life (John 10:10)… Satan death.
